The one that goes on and stays on.

The Sun Shower Jacket lives by the door. Waterproof and windproof, it handles whatever the British weather decides to do — and the leg loops mean it stays put even when the wind picks up.

The extended vest covers hips and thighs for more coverage than a standard jacket, and the oversized storm collar folds up when conditions get serious. The leash portal fits over most harnesses so there's no choosing between coat and lead. Side-release buckles make it quick on and off, and reflective accents keep them visible when the light drops.

Lightweight and uninsulated, it layers well over a fleece for colder days, or wears alone when it's just wet.

    Sun shower jacket

"We had the previous sun shower jacket from Ruffwear which we were very happy with. The new one is similar…no fussing, easily slips on…. which is good for our Golden Retriever! I ordered the earth colour which I really like."

    Great product

"A nice lightweight jacket. Easy to put on and take off, which is good for an older dog. Also like the choice of colours."

User friendly and looks super cool!

"I bought this rain mack for my miniature poodle puppy (5 months old). It looks great - other dog owners are always admiring it. It is lightweight, looks very well made, and is quick and easy to get on - just slips over the head and can be secured and released with one of the two clasps. I bought XS which is a little bit big my pooch at the moment but its flexible straps mean it is still secure and can be adjusted as he grows. Must be comfortable because he fell asleep in it! Highly recommended."

    Ruffwear Sun Shower coat.

"I was looking for something very specific for my collie cross, Bruce. Bruce has arthritis in shoulders and hips, but he is very active and loves to be out and about no matter what the weather. He has plenty of coat the keep warm, but he's 'soft' coated so he's not waterproof. Being soggy made his arthritis worse. Added to this Bruce does not 'do' clothing... After a chat with Amy at barksandbunnies I decided to try the Ruffwear Sun Shower coat in medium (Bruce is a big collie, about 23kg). The coat has no insulation, it is simply water and wind proof - perfect. Bruce tried the coat on and I fed him some of Amy's biscuits to sweeten the deal. He had a trot around, no problems, then I took it off again. We didn't have to wait long for a really rainy day and we gave the coat a proper road test. Bruce did all the things dogs do, he had a really good run and acted as if there was no coat. The coat stayed put without any fiddling from me. It is quite slim cut, so doesn't restrict movement at all. The back of the coat blew up once (it was windy) but righted itself straight away. The rain was full on, much more than a shower, water was beading on the coat and running off. The position of the clips under the sides means that water runs off the dog, not under the dog, they're a bit tricky to do up but I'm sure I'll improve with practice. Once home, coat off to reveal one dry dog. I can't fault the design, Ruffwear really know what they're doing. Happy human and happy dog. "
