The Lumenglow High-Vis Vest is for the walks that push into the edges of the day. Early mornings before the light comes up properly. Evenings that go on longer than planned. The moments when you want to know exactly where they are without having to think about it. High-vis colour and reflective panels work together so your dog is visible whether the sun is out or long gone.
We occasionally used a high-vis coat for Albie. He was an explorer, the kind of dog who covered ground quickly on a big open hillside. On the wilder walks, it gave us a little more peace of mind. On the quieter ones, an everyday loop around the village in the dark of winter, it kept us both safer from traffic.
Now with two light loops - chest and back - so the Beacon Safety Light goes wherever it works best for you. Everything else that made it worth wearing is still here: side-release buckles for quick on and off, a leash portal that goes straight over most harnesses, and light weather protection built in so a bit of drizzle at dusk isn't a reason to cut things short.

Does the Lumenglow have a leash portal so it works with my existing harness?
No - and that's actually one of its greatest strengths. The Lumenglow features a back leash portal that drops cleanly over almost all standard walking harnesses. Slip it on, fasten the side buckles, and clip your lead straight through the vest to the harness underneath as normal. No need to adjust your existing setup or refit anything.
Is a hi-vis dog vest bright enough for dark winter roadside walks?
Yes. Blaze Orange is chosen for maximum contrast against both rural and urban backgrounds in any light condition. The reflective panels catch car headlights and torchlight instantly, and the two light loops - chest and back - mean you can add the Beacon Safety Light wherever it suits your walking style. Visibility covered from every angle, whether the light drops suddenly or you planned for a dark one.
Is this high-visibility vest waterproof or just a safety layer?
Both, to a degree. The 600 denier shell with its weather-resistant finish sheds light drizzle and wet undergrowth without soaking through - enough for a typical damp British morning or an evening walk that goes on longer than planned. It isn't a heavy waterproof membrane and can be comfortably layered over a fleece for warmth - the Lumenglow sits as the outermost layer.
How do I keep a dark-coated dog visible at night?
Active illumination makes the biggest difference. The Lumenglow's reflective panels catch headlights instantly, but for open fields and unlit paths the Beacon Safety Light is the real answer. Two dedicated light loops - one on the chest, one on the back - mean you can position it wherever it works best for how your dog moves. Front clip for dogs who walk at heel, back clip for dogs who range ahead, or both for full 360-degree visibility.
Will it stay secure during off-lead running in rough terrain?
The vest silhouette sits close to the body and the side-release buckles are low-profile, so there's nothing to catch on brambles or undergrowth. It's designed for dogs who move - four paws cover ground faster than two feet. And some dogs - the ones who roam, who explore, who treat every walk as a full investigation of the world - have a particular talent for disappearing into it. Albie was that kind of dog. The Lumenglow would have been his kind of coat.
