Is the Herb 'n' Hay Star Trio a Christmas gift for rabbits and guinea pigs?

Three decorated stars make a lovely little Christmas offering for rabbits and guinea pigs. Made with fibre-rich meadow hay and a fragrant blend of herbs, they bring plenty of nibbling interest to a festive shape. Give the trio on its own or tuck it into a rabbit or guinea pig Christmas gift bundle alongside their favourite forage.

Is chamomile good for rabbits and guinea pigs?

Chamomile is a familiar herb in small-animal forage blends, valued for its gentle, soothing associations as well as its flavour. It's also used in calming supplements formulated for rabbits and guinea pigs. In these stars, dried chamomile joins meadow hay, flowers and other herbs to create a varied festive treat with plenty to investigate and enjoy.

Do peppermint and nettle benefit small-animal digestive health?

Both have a place in small-animal botanical recipes, though they bring different qualities to the mix.

Peppermint: Known for its distinctive aroma and traditionally associated with digestive comfort, peppermint is also used alongside chamomile in digestive-support supplements formulated for rabbits and guinea pigs. In these stars, it brings an aromatic flavour to the meadow hay and herb blend.

Nettle: A familiar forage plant, nettle brings naturally occurring vitamins and minerals to the mix and can help encourage interest in eating. RWAF literature includes nettle among the plants that can encourage rabbits to eat, while its wider guidance highlights the digestive benefits of a varied forage diet. Here, dried nettle joins meadow hay, peppermint and flowers for a little botanical variety in every festive star.

Can I use these hay stars as rabbit or guinea pig stocking fillers?

Absolutely. Three little stars made with 100% natural ingredients are a lovely fit for a small-pet Christmas gift selection. Keep the trio together as a present or divide them between gift bundles, with something herby to nibble alongside a new toy or favourite forage. Christmas stockings aren't just for the humans.

Are these Christmas hay treats suitable for chinchillas and degus?

Yes, the manufacturer recommends the Herb 'n' Hay Star Trio for chinchillas and degus, with a serving suggestion of half a star every few days. The three toppings bring cornflowers, coconut or carrot and beetroot to the selection, so there's a little festive variety to enjoy in smaller portions.
