It bounces wrong. That's exactly the point.
The Gnawt-a-Cone was inspired by the Ponderosa pines of Central Oregon - the same landscape that shaped Ruffwear. The irregular cone shape means every bounce goes somewhere unexpected, which means your dog can never quite predict where it's going next. That's not a flaw in the design. That's the whole game.
When the fetch session is over, there's a second game waiting.
The internal chamber holds peanut butter, banana, biscuits - whatever your dog goes wild for. Pack it, hand it over, and let them work for it. Natural latex rubber means it's tough enough to handle the effort, and top-rack dishwasher safe when they're done.
Size: 7.5 cm W × 10 cm H (3 in × 4 in).
Part of the Gnawt-a-Toys collection - pairs with the Gnawt-a-Stick and Gnawt-a-Rock, all inspired by Ruffwear's home in Bend, Oregon.

This toy is designed for interactive play - supervised play is recommended. If any part becomes loose or detached, remove and discard.

Getting it right matters as much to us as it does to you. Finding the right thing sometimes needs a bit of exploring - piecing together the right parts of the puzzle. If the final piece is still missing lets figure it out together - drop us a message.

It comes down to play style - though all three share the same durable natural latex rubber and the same Oregon-inspired design. The Gnawt-a-Stick is a floating fetch baton - a safer, more satisfying alternative to a real stick, and brilliant near water. The Gnawt-a-Rock rolls and bounces unpredictably, doubling as a slow feeder puzzle that dispenses treats as your dog noses it around. The Cone is the fetch and stuffing hybrid - the most erratic bounce of the three, plus a wide internal chamber for peanut butter, banana, or biscuits. Worth having all three if your dog likes variety.
Yes. The Gnawt-a-Cone is made from natural latex rubber - food-safe, non-toxic, and free from the harsh chemical smell you sometimes get with cheaper synthetic toys. The cone is open at both ends, which reduces the risk of suction or vacuum build-up compared to toys with a single enclosed opening - though as with any toy, supervised play is always the sensible approach.
Peanut butter, mashed banana, and wet food all work brilliantly and keep your dog busy longest. For a longer-lasting challenge, freeze the toy overnight once it's packed - it turns a quick snack into a proper puzzle. If you're using a runny filling, pop a small hard biscuit into the narrow tip first to slow the drip, and stick to a hard floor or outside just in case. Kizzie has never left a single trace - but we wouldn't want to promise that for every dog.
The natural latex rubber is chew-resistant and handles intense play well, but the Gnawt-a-Cone is designed for interactive fetch and treat-dispensing rather than dedicated chewing. If your dog's instinct is to destroy rather than fetch and lick, keep an eye on the session and put the toy away once the treats are gone. It's an engagement toy first - it'll last longest when it's used that way.
If anything ever happens while you're out, whoever finds this card knows exactly who to call to make sure your animals are safe at home.
