Out on Kizzies walk this morning, a beautiful warm sunny day and just as I threw her favourite ball I saw something on the floor. From a distance I thought it looked like a snake but dismissed that as panic and concluded it must have been a fallen branch catching the sunlight. But no.... it really was a snake!
I have never seen a hedgehog or badger in the wild which is a bit of a standing joke now.... but at least I can say I have seen a snake!
Kizzie was fine by the way! distracted with her ball and some treats. I'm not an expert on snakes (!) but I think from some reference books that this is a grass snake.
